Text messages

Naverila is booking software for independent dog groomers. This page explains exactly what text messages are sent through it, how a dog owner agrees to receive them, and how to stop them.

Last updated 16 October 2026

There are two separate agreements on this page

1. Naverila texts groomers who use Naverila about their own account — new booking requests and service notices. That agreement is between Naverila and its customer.
2. A groomer texts their own clients about an appointment those clients booked. That agreement is between the dog owner and their groomer.
They are collected separately, in different places, and neither one implies the other.

1. If you use Naverila to run your grooming business

Naverila texts you — its account holder — about your own account: a new booking request from one of your clients, and occasional notices about the service. This is a direct agreement between you and Naverila.

You opt in inside your own dashboard, under Settings → Notifications. The box is off by default and your account works exactly the same whether you tick it or not:

Messages sent to an account holder. Four automatic alerts are live: a booking request has come in; a client has accepted a time the groomer offered; a client has declined one; and a deposit a client was asked for has not arrived. The dashboard also offers "Send me a test", which is how this number is used for development and testing. These are the message bodies, produced by the software itself:

Naverila: new booking request from Sarah Mills for Bruno (Full groom), Fri 2 Oct 9:00 AM. Review it: naverila.com/app/#requests Reply STOP to opt out.
Naverila: Sarah Mills accepted the new time for Bruno: Fri 2 Oct 9:00 AM. It is confirmed in your diary. Reply STOP to opt out.
Naverila: Sarah Mills declined the new time for Bruno (Fri 2 Oct 9:00 AM). The slot is free again. Reply STOP to opt out.
Naverila: $20 deposit for Bruno has not arrived. Nothing cancelled - the slot is held until 4:00 PM today. naverila.com/app/#requests Reply STOP to opt out.
Naverila: test message. Your account is set up to receive booking alerts. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

2. If you booked an appointment with a groomer

Client texting is part of Naverila’s paid plan. A studio on the paid plan is set up with a dedicated texting number of its own, in three steps: the number is reserved, the carrier verifies the business (usually 5 to 10 working days), and the number is activated after a delivery test. Once it is active, Naverila sends from that number: a reminder the day before the appointment, a note when the dog is ready to collect, and replies the groomer writes in Naverila to a text the dog owner sent. The email reminder continues throughout. Until a studio’s number is active, its appointment texts are sent by the groomer from their own phone using Naverila’s one-tap composer. The agreement below is collected on the booking page so that those messages can be sent once the number is active. As of 17 October 2026 no studio’s number is active yet; this page is updated when the first one is.

Who sends, and who receives

Each groomer who uses Naverila runs their own business and has their own public booking page at naverila.com/book/their-name. When a dog owner books with that groomer, any text they receive is about their own appointment with that groomer.

Until a studio’s own number is active, the groomer is the sender: the text leaves their own phone and arrives from their own number. Once a studio’s number is active, every message from it names the studio it concerns, so the recipient knows who is writing before they read a word, and it is only ever about an appointment with the studio the recipient actually booked with: a reminder, a note that the dog is ready, or the groomer’s reply to a text the recipient sent.

How a dog owner opts in

Consent is collected at the moment of booking, on the groomer's public booking page, and nowhere else. The dog owner:

  1. Chooses their dog, the service and a time.
  2. Enters their name, email and — optionally — a mobile number, on the details screen.
  3. On that same screen may tick "My groomer may text me about this appointment". The box is unticked by default, is never pre-ticked, is separate from the terms and the privacy policy, and cannot be ticked unless a phone number has been entered. The booking is accepted whether or not it is ticked — consent is never a condition of booking.

This is what that step looks like:

What is recorded

When the box is ticked, Naverila stores the phone number, the groomer it was given to, the date and time, and the exact wording the dog owner read — not a version number alone, so the agreement can still be produced after the wording has changed. The words above and the words on the record come from one source inside the database, which the page renders and the record is written from, so the two cannot be different. Records taken before 12 October 2026 carry the wording that was stored at the time and are never edited afterwards.

What a dog owner receives

No third-party content and nothing age-restricted. Because these texts come from the groomer's own phone, they arrive from the groomer's own number, in the groomer's own words, and the conversation stays between the two of you.

Naverila offers the groomer five ready-made appointment messages. These are their exact bodies, with a studio called Juniper Grooming, a client called Sarah and a dog called Bruno filled in:

Naverila for Juniper Grooming: Hi Sarah, a reminder that the full groom for Bruno is Fri 2 Oct at 9:00 AM. Reply STOP to opt out.
Naverila for Juniper Grooming: Hi Sarah, Bruno is booked in for full groom on Fri 2 Oct at 9:00 AM. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Naverila for Juniper Grooming: Hi Sarah, on my way to you now, about 15 minutes out. Reply STOP to opt out.
Naverila for Juniper Grooming: Hi Sarah, running about 15 min behind today, so Bruno's appointment starts a little later. Sorry! Reply STOP to opt out.
Naverila for Juniper Grooming: Hi Sarah, Bruno is all done and ready whenever you are. Reply STOP to opt out.

The groomer can also write their own message, and there is a sixth ready-made one that is not an appointment message: a nudge that it has been a while since the last groom. That is a win-back solicitation rather than appointment information, so it can only be sent from the groomer's own phone and is blocked from Naverila's number — a promotional message under an Appointments registration is a mismatch a carrier is entitled to reject. Naverila sends no marketing, no promotions and no offers from its own number, and collects no consent for any.

Hi Sarah, it's been a while since Bruno's last groom. Want me to get the next one in the diary? - Juniper Grooming

How to stop these texts

The two agreements on this page stop in two different places, because the messages come from two different phones.

Texts from Naverila's own number

These keywords work on +1 877 885 0434 — the number Naverila texts its account holders from. The messaging provider that number runs on answers them automatically, with wording Naverila has set, and these are the exact replies it is set to send:

ReplyAlso acceptedWhat happens, and what comes back
STOPSTOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUITThe number is unsubscribed and nothing further is sent to it from this number. One reply comes back and then nothing more: “Naverila: You are unsubscribed and will get no further Naverila account notifications. Reply START to resubscribe.”
HELPINFO“Naverila: account notifications for Naverila users. Help: contact@naverila.com or naverila.com/sms. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”
STARTUNSTOP, YESResubscribes, if you stopped and changed your mind: “Naverila: You are subscribed to Naverila account notifications. Msg frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”

Those replies say account notifications because that is the only thing this number is used for today. Alongside the automatic reply, Naverila records a STOP as a withdrawal of consent against the account the number belongs to, erases the stored mobile number, and does not send anything that was already waiting to go out to it.

What STOP on that number does not do

The appointment texts in section 2 are sent by your groomer from their own phone, not from +1 877 885 0434, so a STOP sent to Naverila's number does not reach them. Tell your groomer instead — reply to their text, email them, or say so at the next appointment — and they will stop. You can also email contact@naverila.com and we will pass it on to them. Naverila does not send appointment texts to dog owners from its own number today; if that ever changes, this page will say so, and STOP on the number they arrive from will stop them.

Cost

Naverila does not charge dog owners anything. Message and data rates may apply from your own mobile carrier. Message frequency varies and depends on how often you book.

Your information

A phone number given at booking is used to contact that dog owner about their appointments with that groomer. It is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone for their own marketing. The Privacy Policy sets out how data is held and deleted, and the Terms govern use of the service.
